FAILURE TO SEND REPORTS MAKES ACCIDENT CLAIMS DIFFICULT

KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 10 (Bernama)-- Deputy Human Resource Minister Datuk Maznah Mazlan said companies' failure in sending reports made accident claims to the Social Security Organisation (Socso) difficult.

"Of 54,134 cases reported in 2008, only 1,500 had reports on accidents involving workers. The government had allocated RM1.18 billion for the purpose," she said when opening the Employee Safety and Health Conference here today.

To this end, the Department of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH) had launched an online report system to make preparing accident reports faster and more systematic.

Employers should send in the accident reports in one week failing which they could be sentenced to two years' jail or fined RM50,000 or both while companies not registered with Socso could be jailed two years or fined RM10,000 or both.

Maznah said Socso would proceed with 'Ops Kesan' to trace one million workers who were not protected and would ensure a high safety level.

DOSH had so far prepared courses and trained over 71,000 workers in safety and health.

  1. It comes to a very difficult situations when a only working person of the family meets with any injuries which has caused them a physical or mental injury, a spinal or brain injury for example.Again when such an accident happens for the people of the middle or the lower class families it proves to be very difficult to afford for the medical costs and the other big or small purchasing of the things.Accident claimssolicitors can help you provide adequate compensation in a short period of time. They can guide you through the steps for filing a claim.Again the main or the important aspect for filling for an accident claim is that it should be filed within a limited period of a week or ten days of the accident otherwise the claim would not be considered to be legal.Again each case claims are different, hence you get advice on accident claims from specialists. Specialists will provide all information necessary to make a claim.
